Your Gmail, finally under control

Export any conversation to PDF or Markdown, summarize long threads with AI, draft replies in your own tone, and pin private notes to the messages that matter.

It never asks for access to your Google account

Most Gmail add-ons make you hand over an OAuth token that lets them read your entire mailbox from their servers, forever. Mail Toolbox does not. It reads only the conversation you have open, in your own browser, using the session you are already signed in with. There is no token to leak and nothing to revoke.

Everything happens where you already are

Export in five formats

PDF, Markdown, HTML, EML and plain text. Attachments included. Markdown comes with YAML front matter, so it drops straight into Obsidian or Logseq.

AI that reads the whole thread

Summaries with action items, replies in the tone you pick, full-thread translation, and structured data pulled out of invoices and bookings.

Batch export, one click

Tick any number of conversations and get a tidy ZIP — one folder per thread, attachments alongside. Or merge them into a single PDF.

Private notes on any conversation

Jot down context that does not belong in the email itself. A colour dot in the message list tells you which threads you have annotated.

Unread alerts that stay quiet

Watch several accounts and labels at once. Only genuinely new mail raises a notification — you never get spammed with the backlog you already know about.

Local by default

Export and notes run entirely on your device. Your email reaches our servers only when you explicitly run an AI action, and we never store it.

Questions people actually ask

Do I have to give it access to my Gmail account?

No. Mail Toolbox never requests Google OAuth permissions and never uses the Gmail API. It reads the conversation you have open through the browser session you are already signed in with, the same way the page itself does.

Does the PDF export handle Chinese, Japanese, Arabic or Hebrew?

Yes, perfectly. We deliberately do not use a JavaScript PDF library — those need embedded fonts and break on non-Latin scripts. Instead we build a clean printable document and hand it to your browser's own print engine, which uses your system fonts. Every language and every image comes out exactly as shown.

What works without an account?

Export in all five formats, batch ZIP export, notes, and unread alerts — all of it, with no account and no network calls to us. An account is only needed for the AI features, because those run on our servers.

How does the AI pricing work?

Each AI action costs credits: a summary is 1, a drafted reply is 2. Every account gets 30 free credits to start, and paid plans include a monthly allowance. There is no per-token billing and no surprise invoice.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome and any Chromium-based browser — Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Arc and Opera. A Firefox version is planned.
